Different persuasion techniques used in websites

1) Identify as many persuasive techniques as you can find on the site.

website: (http://www.savethechildren.org/site/c.8rKLIXMGIpI4E/b.6115947/k.8D6E/Official_Site.htm)

Different techniques used:
-Association, the whole idea of the website to "save the children" is an example of association.
-testimonials, on the main page of the website they present a section for twitter. where they load recent tweets that are representing this certain website. twitter is very popular around the world, which is mainly why its used, its one of the most known types of media. so twitter is used to send their message across to the world.
- warm & fuzzy , as soon as you open the website you see large images of children and families in need. whether they want you to sponsor a child, or donate money to a certain cause. these images provokes the audience to help these families out, because once they see what they're going through, and the potential ways we can help them, they're going to immediately be interested.

2) Do you think these techniques are effective?
i do think these techniques are effective, because for example the warm and fuzzy technique, the images that have been selected to be put on the home page of the website were chosen specifically to catch the audiences attention and to make them feel sorry for the children and families on the website. the images that have been chosen to be featured on the website are definitely effective, especially to those who are looking to sponsor a child.

3) yes, this website is a form of propaganda. as it is advertising all the different accomplishments this specific organization has had, with sponsoring children, and helping different causes. its a positive form of propaganda because the website shows the good side of everything when it comes to the organization. it shows all the benefits of the organization, how much money they could raise, and many other examples to persuade the viewers on how good ( save the children) is as an organization.
