To Sleep

1) The speaker is addressing speak and it is capitalizing the S so it is being personified.

2) It is preserved as mentioned "O soft embalmer of the still midnight", when you are asleep you look like you are dead . Sleep breaks things up for us.

3) Because he is saying forgetting things is holly because he forgets about his worries and problems while he is asleep.

4) It is this one one place where he gets saved by sleep from all his problems and issues in life because he doesn't have to think about it.

5) He described his conscious as something curious and always questioning it. In the dark places it is the most place where he opens up and and thinks.
  • Conscience.
  • Simile.
  • Rhyme.
  • Alliteration.
6) His soul is a Casket, because it shows how his emotions are taken away by him sleeping. It is like when people are dead their soul and memories are all going to go away with them and while you are asleep you just forget everything and lock away your soul until you wake up again.

8) He might have a different perspective on death even-though we can see a lot of lines that might relate to death. For example when he mentions "And seal the hushed Casket of my soul" and "O soft embalmer of the still midnight" if these two lines were placed in a death poem it would give the same meaning.
