2) the author writes "Soft embalmer of the still midnight", and this is the main metaphor he uses. the word "embalming" is most generally defined as to "preserve" something usually from decay. so in the poem, the author is basically writing that when we are asleep where not really dead even though we look like we are, we are embalmed, and still living.
3) he writes that forgetfulness is divine, because when you are sleeping you have no worries, no thoughts, and its a time for your self and your brain to relax and to forget just for a while everything that you need to think about hat day. this is why sleep is considered to be a relaxation element in our lives.
4) the author writes to show that sleep is like a get away for him, its an opportunity for him to "travel away" from his daily thoughts, and to have a time for him self to relax.
5) the author describes his conscious as burrowed like a mole, "turn the key in the oiled wards", and to seal the "hushed casket" of his soul.
6) The author wrote "...And seal the hushed Casket of my soul." when someone talks about a casket, it usually related to death, so the common thing here is that when we are sleeping we truly do like were dead, and how we would look like in a casket if we were put in one. its as if our "soul" is asleep, and sealed, as the author described in the poem.
7) sleep is very much like death. firstly its the position of our body that is usually compared with how we look like when we die. in sleep we are very still, yes we are still breathing but we are barely moving and will most likely stay in one still position for most the night. just like death, our eyes would be closed, we would not speak, we would be at our quietest state of the day.
8) he might feel neutral about it, its hard to tell because in his poem about sleep he describes it as a very peaceful aspect of his life, and in a positive manner. he might view death in the same way as being the end of life, and something that it supposed to happen, but he almost might view is as just a "bad way" of going to sleep, death is basically like a lifeless sleep, our organs are not working, our heart would have stopped beating.
