What i found very unique in this text was the names of the people which could identify their culture. For Example "my mother's name was White Cow Sees", and " My Crazy Horse's father were cousins", there is also "Red Eagle Feather". Also the names they use to identify the time or more specifically the month. for example "I was born in the Moon of the Popping Trees (December)" and the year "Wounded Knee (1890)" . the names they use also show their strong connection with nature. By "the bitten moon" they are referring to a Crescent or a half moon, and they probably came up with the name based on how they see at after a full moon. therefore this kind of language reflects or shows the simplicity of their lives and they way they refer to things around them based on how they look. Language in this case is an important aspect in communication and precipitation because people used and will always use language to express their beliefs and feelings and thoughts. Language is basically an imaginary ID card where you could identify their culture, their environment ,and maybe religion, and by the language used by the Black Elk i could see that his/her culture is highly related to nature and things around them. Their seem to be a great difference between my/our language and Black Elk's language. where for instants i speak in a more modern and scientific based language for example i would refer to "the bitten moon" as a Crescent. another difference would be the fact that the language i use is very influenced by my religion where as in their case their might be no religion or their religion is based on the language and the language is not based on the religion.
