War in Libya- Euphemism examples

The Atlantic newspaper outlines 10 different euphemisms that are used to cloud the recent issue in Libya. Surprisingly the world does not admit what is happening in Libya, and refuse to call it a war, so they use euphemism to make reality- the war seem less serious. This is also happening with the other Arab countries who are in conflict or war, but the world still referred to it as spreading democracy. One of the given examples was: An overture to the Libyan people of hope and regime change. This is a much more positive approach to the issue, which shows how language can play a role in hiding the truth from the world and does not portray what is actually happening in Libya, but what the politicians want the people to know instead.
